CBWT is recognised by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as the representative body for the Wool Textile Industry.
Our activities include:
- Active representation at European and International level through Textile Federations.
- Lobbying of UK and European governments on behalf of members.
- Membership of many local and national committees ensures that members’ views are expressed in appropriate forum.
- Engaging in a consultative process to give members an opportunity to present views on likely impact of proposed measures or policies on the industry.
- Scrutinising current issues and formulating guidance notes for members.
- Accessing national and European funds and facilitating collaborative research with external partners.
- Engaging in collaborative research with companies and external agencies to develop and promote the competitiveness of the sector.
- Providing seminars and training sessions to brief and update members.
- Providing assistance on current issues and legislation.
- Collaborative work with interested parties to discuss and resolve issues.
