ENVIRONMENTAL NETWORKS

ENco provides a wide range of services to the textile industry through the activities of our Environmental Network.

Networking provides a cost effective way of addressing generic environmental issues, solving common problems and carrying out research.

The activities of the Network are funded by industry contributions and in some project areas by EC or UK grant providers.

Membership of either Network is open to all relevant manufacturing companies.

Network Activities in the Raw Wool Scouring Industry

Wool scourers receive comprehensive assistance with the completion of applications for Integrated Pollution and Control (IPPC) Permits, Site Condition Reports and Improvement Notices.

Regular emissions monitoring of IPPC permitted Installations.

Technical projects, working towards the optimisation of processing conditions and minimisation of waste and environmental impact are currently being undertaken in the following areas:

Composting of solid wastes

Designing and optimisation of effluent treatment plant

Selection of detergents

Network Activities in the Dyeing and Finishing Industry

Dyers and Finishers receive comprehensive assistance with the completion of applications for Integrated Pollution and Control (IPPC) Permits, Site Condition Reports and Improvement Notices.
